NocoBase Core

Let agents focus on your business logic. The foundation is ready.

NocoBase Core is the open-source application foundation for business systems built and run with AI. Permissions, workflows, files, and other building blocks come ready to use, so agents build only what is specific to your business, all on one consistent architecture.

Building blocks

Proven building blocks, ready to use.

Even with AI writing the code, permissions, workflow engines, and approvals are hard to design from scratch. They are full of edge cases and take a lot of work to maintain. Core provides ready-made building blocks, and NocoBase keeps maintaining and upgrading them. Agents build only the business logic, so there is far less code to write and verify.

Users and permissions

  • Sign-in and sessionsPasswords, resets, and sessions; OIDC single sign-on, social login, and two-factor authentication
  • User managementActivate and deactivate accounts, invite links, and role assignment
  • PermissionsAccess to pages, actions, and data, the same for people and agents
  • Data access rulesDefault data scope, sharing rules, and restriction rules
  • API KeyFor scripts, other systems, and the command line

Data and files

  • Data models and migrationsTables, fields, relations, and migrations on SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle
  • Database explorerBrowse existing connections, tables, and fields
  • FilesUpload, store, preview, and download, linked to business records
  • Template printingContracts, quotes, and other documents from Office templates

Workflows

  • Record lifecycleStates and transitions declared in code, with full handling history
  • Workflow managementFlow diagrams and run history; admins adjust approvers and thresholds
  • Scheduled jobsRun on a schedule, with every run recorded
  • ApprovalsMulti-level, all-sign, any-sign, add a signer, transfer, and send back
  • Task centerOne to-do list across every business source

Messaging

  • NotificationsSending, delivery, and logs
  • In-app messagesThe in-app channel and inbox
  • ChannelsSMTP and Resend email, Feishu and DingTalk group bots
  • Web PushBrowser push notifications
  • EmailConnect mailboxes to sync, reply, and send, with threads linked to records

Architecture and standards

One architecture, one set of standards.

Switch developers, models, or even sessions, and the AI may improvise differently each time. The system gets harder and harder to maintain. Core provides one project structure and one set of development standards, so the system evolves steadily for years on a consistent architecture.

A merged migration never changes; every fix is a new migration

Every endpoint owns its own authentication and permission checks

Project scaffolding

Every new app starts with the same layout. Pages, endpoints, schema changes, and tests each have a fixed place, and Core’s building blocks come in as packages.

Architecture standards

AGENTS.md and the skills spell out where business code goes, what to take from Core, and how to write migrations and permission checks.

Development skills

Skills ship with Core’s packages and sync into the app on install. Claude Code, Codex, and other coding tools read the same playbook, so the approach holds as people and models change.

Open source and self-hosting

You own your apps and data.

Core is free and open source. Your business code and data stay in your own repositories and on your own servers, and you choose your own models and agents.
