We continuously enhance the core capabilities of NocoBase and keep it open source, while also developing more open source and free plugins. Most small businesses and teams can meet their needs with the free community edition. When your business has higher requirements for security, technical architecture, and technical support, you can opt for the commercial edition.

Of course. Commercial plugins and commercial licenses are independent of each other. Commercial plugins provide advanced features and do not open source. They can be installed on either an open-source or commercial licensed NocoBase.
You have the options to:
There is no expiration date, and no annual payment is required. Once you purchase a commercial license or commercial plugin, you will receive permanent license for the current root version, which can be used permanently.
The commercial license is for one company or organization and can only be used within the licensed company or organization. It cannot be distributed to other companies or organizations. When you use NocoBase to develop applications for your clients, you should purchase a license for your client's company.
You can upgrade from a lower edition to a higher edition, but you cannot downgrade from a higher edition to a lower one. When upgrading, you just have to pay the price difference based on the remaining upgrade period. For example, if you are currently on the Professional edition with 6 months remaining in the upgrade period, and you upgrade to the Enterprise edition, you need to pay the price difference: 16000-8000*(6/12)=12000
You can purchase an additional year of upgrades and technical support at 50% of the current edition's price.
We plan to develop a platform for self-service license and plugin purchases based on NocoBase in the fourth quarter of 2024. Until then, please contact us via email to discuss solutions with our core team and complete your purchase.
